واتخذتموه وراءكم ظهريا

We found the children of Al-Barṣā' from the offspring of those who are neglected.
وأن ترد الإبل كل يوم نصف النهار
And for the camels to drink every day at noon.
هاجت ظواهر الارض، أي يبس بقلها
The surfaces of the earth have become dry, meaning their vegetation has dried up.
والظواهر أشراف الارض
And 'al-ẓawāhir' are the high grounds of the earth.

And Quraish al-ẓawāhir are those who encamp on the outskirts of Mecca.

وتظاهر القوم أيضا: تدابروا، كأنه ولى كل واحد منهم ظهره الى صاحبه
