والسدير: نهر، ويقال قصر، وهو معرب وأصله بالفارسية سه دلة: أي فيه قباب مداخلة، مثل الحاري بكمين.

And al-sader: the bewildered one.
والسادر: الذى لا يهتم ولا يبالي ما صنع.
And al-sader: one who does not care and is heedless of what they have done.
والسدر: تحير البصر.
And al-sadr: the bewilderment of sight.
يقال: سدر البعير بالكسر يسدر سدرا وسدارة: تحير من شدة الحر، فهو سدر.
It is said: The camel became bewildered (sadara) - with kasra - it becomes bewildered (yasduru) - sadrā and sadārah: bewildered from the intensity of the heat, so it is sadr.
وسدر أيضا: اسم من أسماء البحر.
And sadr is also: a name from the names of the sea.
فكأن برقع والملائك حوله * سدر تواكله القوائم أجرب
As if Burqu' and the angels around him * were a sea whose limbs were consuming it, afflicted with mange.

I will measure you out by the sword with the measure of al-sandarah.
يقال: هو مكيال ضخم كالقنقل والجراف.
It is said: It is a large measure like al-Qanqal and al-Juraaf.
والسندرى: ضرب من السهام منسوب إلى السندرة، وهي شجرة.
And al-sandariyy: a type of arrow attributed to al-sandarah, which is a tree.
وكان لبيد مع عامر بن الطفيل، فدعى لبيد إلى مهاجاته، فأبى وقال: لكيلا يكون السندري نديدتي * وأجعل أقواما عموما عماعما
And Labīd was with 'Amir ibn al-Tufayl, so Labīd was called upon to exchange insults with him, but he refused and said: So that Al-Sandariyy would not be my peer * and I would make some people utterly insignificant.
وسدرت المرأة شعرها فانسدر: لغة في سدلته فانسدل.
And the woman let down her hair and it became loose (insadara): a dialectal variation for 'she let it down (sadalathu) and it became loose (insadala)'.
وانسدر فلان يعدو، أي أسرع بعض الإسراع.
And so-and-so ran (insadara), meaning he hastened with some speed.
