And az-Zahrah (with fatha): a star. As the poet said: 'My companion has entrusted me with the marketplace * And awakened me for the rising of az-Zahrah.'
وزهرت النار زهورا: أضاءت، وأزهرتها أنا.
And the fire zaharit (bloomed/shone) zuhurًا (blooming/shining); and I azhartuha (made it bloom/shine).
يقال: زهرت بك ناري، أي قويت بك وكثرت، مثل وريت بك زنادي.
It is said: 'My fire zaharit with you,' meaning it became strong and abundant because of you, like 'I ignited my tinder with you.'
والأزهر: النير.
And al-Azhar: the luminous.
ويسمى القمر الازهر

Ibn al-Sikkit said: Al-Azharan: the sun and the moon.

Qais bin Al-Khatim said: 'She walks like a zahra' walking in the soft * ground towards the desert, the cliff being before her.'

والمزهر (1) : العود الذى يضرب به.
And al-Muzhir: the lute which is played.
ولازدهار بالشئ: الاحتفاظ به.
And lazdihār bi-sh-shay': to preserve it.
وفى الحديث أنه أوصى أبا قتادة بالاناء الذى توضأ منه فقال: " ازدهر بهذا، فإن له شأنا "، أي احتفظ به ولا تضيعه.
And in the hadith, he advised Abu Qatadah concerning the vessel from which he performed ablution, saying: 'Azdihār with this, for it has significance,' meaning preserve it and do not lose it.
