وأقبل فلان يتذمر، كأنه يلوم نفسه على فائت.
And so-and-so came forward lamenting, as if blaming himself for something missed.
وظل يتذمر على فلان، إذا تنكر له وأوعده.
And he continued to show displeasure towards so-and-so, if he turned hostile to him and threatened him.
والتذمير: أن يدخل الرجل يده في حياء الناقة لينظر أذكر جنينها أم أنثى؟
And al-tadhmeer: is for a man to insert his hand into the womb of a she-camel to see if her fetus is male or female?
وقال المذمر للناتجين * متى ذمرت قبلي الأرجل
And the one who checks the fetus said to the midwives * When did the legs come before me?
وهو الذي يذمره المذمر.
And it is what the 'muthammir' (neck/mane area) is referred to by the 'muthammir' (one who checks).
