فإن أردت معنى التفضيل قلت: فلانة خير الناس ولم تقل خيرة، وفلان خير الناس ولم تقل أخير، لا يثنى ولا يجمع، لأنه في معنى أفعل.
If you intend the meaning of preference, you say: 'So-and-so is better than all people' and you do not say 'khayrah', and 'So-and-so is better than all people' and you do not say 'akhayr', it is not dualized or pluralized, because it is in the meaning of 'af'al' (superlative).
ألا بكر الناعي بخيري بنى أسد * بعمرو بن مسعود وبالسيد الصمد
Hark, the announcer mourned the two best of Banu Asad, for Amr ibn Mas'ud and for the Master, the Eternal.
والخير بالكسر: الكرم.

والاستخارة: الخيرة.
And 'al-istikharah': the seeking of guidance (the choice).
يقال: استخر الله يخر لك.
It is said: 'Seek guidance from God, He will grant you good.'
وخيرته بين الشيئين، أي فوضت إليه الخيار.
And I gave him the choice between the two things, meaning I entrusted the choice to him.
