And al-tashrīd: is the driving away.
وَمِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: (فَشَرِّدْ بِهِمْ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ)
And from it is His saying, Exalted: (So scatter them behind them).
أَيْ فَرِّقْ وَبَدِّدْ جَمْعَهُمْ
Meaning, separate and disperse their جمع.
وَالشَّرِيدُ: الطَّرِيدُ
And al-sharīd: is the banished one.
وَبَنُو الشَّرِيدِ: بَطْنٌ مِنْ سُلَيْمٍ
And Banu al-Sharīd: a clan from Sulaym.
