وَأَرْعَدَ الرَّجُلُ: أَخَذَتْهُ الرَّعْدَةُ، وَأَرْعَدَتْ فَرَائِصُهُ عِنْدَ الْفَزَعِ.
And the man trembled: he was seized by trembling, and his muscles quivered from fear.
وَالرَّعْدِيدُ: الْجَبَانُ.

وَالرَّعْدِيدُ: الْمَرْأَةُ الرَّخِيصَةُ.

And it is said: He is insistent in asking: meaning he is persistent in asking.
وَالرَّعَّادُ: ضَرْبٌ مِنْ سَمَكِ الْبَحْرِ إِذَا مَسَّهُ الإِنْسَانُ خَدَرَتْ يَدُهُ وَعَضُدُهُ حَتَّى يَرْتَعِدَ مَا دَامَ السَّمَكُ حَيًّا.

وَقَوْلُهُمْ: جَاءَ بِذَاتِ الرَّعْدِ وَالصَّلِيلِ. يَعْنِي بِهَا الْحَرْبَ.
And their saying: He brought 'that of thunder and clanging.' They mean war by it.
وَذَاتُ الرَّوَاعِدِ: الدَّاهِيَةُ.
