On his forearms was adhering blood, some fluid and some dried.
والمسجد: الاحمر.

ويقال: المسجد: ما أشبع صبغه من الثياب، والجمع مجاسد.
And it is said: al-masjid: that whose dye is saturated from the clothes, and the plural is majāsid.
وعليه ثوب مفدم.

فإذا قام قياما من الصبغ قيل: قد أجسد ثوب فلان إجسادا فهو مجسد.
And when it stands firmly from the dye, it is said: 'the garment of so-and-so has become deeply dyed, its dyeing being ijsādan, and it is majassad.'
ويقال للزعفران: الجساد.
And saffron is called: al-jasād.
والمجسد بكسر الميم: ما يلي الجسد من الثياب.
And al-mijassad with a kasra on the mim: that which is next to the body of the garments.
أخرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلاً جَسَدًا
He brought out for them a body of a calf.
أي أحمر من ذهب.
