إِلَّا أَنَّ الثَّاءَ لَمَّا كَانَتْ مَهْمُوسَةً وَالتَّاءَ مَجْهُورَةً لَمْ يَصِحَّ ذَلِكَ
Except that when the 'thaa' is voiceless and the 'taa' is voiced, that is not correct.
فَأَبْدَلُوا مِنَ الأَوَّلِ تَاءً وَأَدْغَمُوهُ فِي مِثْلِهِ
So they substituted the first with a 'taa' and assimilated it into its like.
وَنَاسٌ مِنَ العَرَبِ يُبْدِلُونَ مِنَ التَّاءِ ثَاءً وَيُدْغِمُونَ
And some Arabs substitute the 'taa' with a 'thaa' and assimilate.
فَيَقُولُونَ: اثْرَدَ
And they say: 'athrada'.
فَيَكُونُ الحَرْفُ الأَصْلِيُّ هُوَ الظَّاهِرُ
And the original letter is the apparent one.
والتَّثْرِيدُ فِي الذَّبْحِ هُوَ الكَسْرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَبْرُدَ
And al-tathreed in slaughter is the breaking before it cools.
وَهُوَ مَنْهِيٌّ عَنْهُ
And it is forbidden.
والثَّرْدُ، بِالتَّحْرِيكِ: تَشَقُّقٌ فِي الشَّفَتَيْنِ
And al-thard, with harakah, is cracking in the lips.
