وقد فرخ الزرع تفريخا

ويوم جعلنا البيض فيه لعامر * مصممة تفأى فراخ الجماجم
And on a day when we made the skulls for 'Amir * prepared, revealing the brains of the skulls.

فهو مصغر، اسم رجل كان في الجاهلية يبرى السهام
It is a diminutive, the name of a man who in the Jahiliyyah used to make arrows.
وفلان فريخ قريش، إنما صغر على وجه المدح
And so-and-so is a 'farikh' of Quraysh, it is only a diminutive used for praise.
