It is said a black snake, unqualified, because it sheds its skin every year.
والأنثى أسودة، ولا توصف بسالخة.
And the female is 'aswada', and is not described as sālikhah.
والسليخة: سليخة الرمث والعرفج الذي ليس فيه مرعى، إنما هو خشب يابس.
And the salīkhah: the dry wood of the Ramth and 'Arfaj which has no pasture, it is merely dry wood.
