And Imru' al-Qays was called 'Dhu al-Qurūḥ' because the King of Rome sent him a poisoned shirt, from which his body became ulcerated and he died.

Al-Qarḥ and al-Qurḥ are two pronunciations, like al-ḍaʿf and al-ḍuʿf, according to Al-Akhfash.
قرحه قرحا: جرحه، فهو قريح وقوم قرحى.
He wounded him (qaraḥahu qarḥan): he injured him, so he is wounded (qarīḥ) and a people are wounded (qarḥā).
لا يسلمون قريحا حل وسطهم * يوم اللقاء ولا يشوون من قرحوا
They do not spare a wounded man who falls among them * on the day of meeting, nor do they roast those who have become wounded.
وقرح جلده بالكسر يقرح قرحا، فهو قرح، إذا خرجت به القروح.
And his skin became sore (qariḥa) with kasra, it breaks out in sores (yaqraḥu) with sores (qaraḥan), so he is sore (qarḥ), if sores appear on him.
والفرس أقرح.
And the horse is aqraḥ (having a forelock marking).
وروضة قرحاء: فيها نوارة بيضاء.
And a pasture qaraḥā': it has white blossoms.
ما كان الفرس أقرح، ولقد قرح يقرح قرحا.
The horse did not have the marking, and indeed it became marked (qariḥa) and it becomes marked (yaqraḥu) with markings (qaraḥan).
والقرحان: ضرب من الكمأة، الواحدة قرحانة.
And al-Qurḥān: a type of truffle, the singular is qurḥānah.
وبعير قرحان، إذا لم يصبه الجرب قط.
And a camel qurḥān, if mange has never afflicted it.
وفى الحديث أن أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قدموا المدينة وهم قرحان، أي لم يكن أصابهم قبل ذلك داء.
And in the Hadith, the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, arrived in Medina and they were qurḥān, meaning no illness had afflicted them before that.
وأما الذى في حديث عمر رضي الله عنه حين أراد أن يدخل الشام وهى تستعر طاعونا، فقيل له: " إن من معك من أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قرحانون فلا تدخلها "، فهى لغة متروكة.
As for that in the Hadith of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, when he wanted to enter Sham while it was raging with plague, it was said to him: 'Indeed, those with you from the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, are qurḥānūn, so do not enter it,' it is an abandoned dialect.
وأقرح القوم، إذا أصاب ما شيتهم القرح.
And the people became afflicted with sores (aqraḥa al-qawm), if sores struck their flocks.
وقرحه بالحق قرحا، إذا استقبله به.
And he met him with the truth (qaraḥahu bil-ḥaqqi qarḥan), if he confronted him with it.
ولقيته مقارحة، أي مواجهة.
And I met him in confrontation (mulāqaḥah), meaning face-to-face.
وقرح الحافر قروحا، إذا انتهت أسنانه: وإنما تنتهى في خمس سنين، لانه في السنة الاولى حولي، ثم جذع، ثم ثنى، ثم رباع، ثم قارح.
And the hoofed animal's teeth reached maturity (qaraḥa al-ḥāfir qurūḥan), when its teeth finished developing: and they finish in five years, because in the first year it is ḥawlī, then jadhʿ, then thanī, then rubāʿ, then qāriḥ.
والفرس قارح، والجمع قرح.
And the horse is qāriḥ (mature), and the جمع is qirḥ.
إلا المقانب والقب المقاريح
Except for the cavalry and the strong, mature horses.
والإناث قوارح
And the females are qawāriḥ (mature).
وفي الأسنان بعد الثنايا والرباعيات أربعة قوارح.
And in the teeth, after the incisors and the second and fourth teeth, are four qawāriḥ (molars).
وكل ذي حافر يقرح، وكل ذي خف يبزل، وكل ذي ظلف يصلغ.
And every hoofed animal reaches maturity (yaqraḥu), and every animal with soft hooves (khuff) develops (yabzilu), and every animal with cloven hooves (ẓilf) develops (yaṣlaghu).
قرحت الناقة تقرح قروحا: استبان حملها، فهي قارح.
The she-camel showed signs of pregnancy (qaraḥat al-nāqah taqraḥu qurūḥan): her pregnancy became apparent, so she is qāriḥ (pregnant).
والقراح: المزرعة التي ليس عليها بناء ولا فيها شجر، والجمع أقرحة.
And al-Qarāḥ: the farmland that has no building on it and no trees in it, and the plural is aqriḥah.
والماء القراح: الذي لا يشوبه شئ.
And al-Mā' al-Qarāḥ: that which nothing mixes with it.
والقريحة: أول ما يستنبط من البئر، ومنه قولهم: لفلان قريحة جيدة، يراد استنباط العلم بجودة الطبع.
And al-Qarīḥah: the first water drawn from a well, and from this is their saying: 'So-and-so has a good qarīḥah,' meaning the ability to extract knowledge with a good disposition.
واقتراح الكلام: ارتجاله.
And iqtirāḥ al-kalām: improvising speech.
واقترحت الجمل، إذا ركبته قبل أن يركب.
And I rode the camel (iqtaraḥtu al-jamal), if I rode it before it was ridden.
والقرواح: الأرض البارزة للشمس لم يختلط بها شئ.
And al-Qarwāḥ: the land exposed to the sun, with nothing mixed into it.
والمستكن كمن يمشي بقرواح
And the hidden one is like one walking on exposed ground (qarwāḥ).
ونخلة قرواح، والجمع القراوح
And a tall palm tree (nakhlah qarwāḥ), and the plural is al-qarāḥ.
أدين وما ديني عليكم بمغرم * ولكن على الشم الجلاد القراوح
I owe, and my debt to you is not burdensome * but rather on the high, strong, tall palm trees.
