ويقول قوم: أمرج البحرين مثل مرج، فعل وأفعل بمعنى.
And some say: 'Amraja the two seas is like 'maraja', meaning the verb form fa'ala and af'ala have the same meaning.
والمرج بالتحريك: مصدر قولك مرج الخاتم في إصبعي بالكسر، أي قلق، مثل جرج.
And al-marj (with harakah): is the masdar of your saying 'maraja the ring in my finger' (with kasr), meaning it was loose, like 'jaraja'.
ومرجت أمانات الناس أيضا: فسدت.
And the trusts of people also became corrupt (marajat).
