والقطب أيضا: القطع، ومنه قطاب الجيب.
And al-qutb also: the cut, and from it is the cut of the pocket/collar.
والقطب: أن تدخل إحدى عروتي الجوالق في الأخرى ثم تثنيها مرة أخرى، فإن لم تثنها فهو السلق.
And al-qutb: is to insert one loop of the saddlebag into the other and then fold it over again; if you do not fold it, it is al-salq.
وحوقل ساعده قد انملق * يقول قطبا ونعما إن سلق
And his forearm was strong and smooth * He said 'qutban' (a type of tying) and 'na'aman' (well done) if it was 'salq' (another type of tying).
وتقول أيضا: قطب بين عينيه، أي جمع، فهو رجل قطوب.
