الفَرَّاءُ: رُبَّمَا خَرَجَتْ بِهِمْ فَصَاحَتُهُمْ إِلَى أَنْ يُهْمِزُوا مَا لَيْسَ بِمَهْمُوزٍ، قَالُوا: لَبَّأْتُ بِالحَجِّ، وَحَلَّيْتُ السَّوِيقَ، وَرَثَيْتُ المَيِّتَ
Al-Farra' said: Sometimes their eloquence leads them to pronounce with a hamza what is not originally hamzized; they said: 'laba'tu' for Hajj, 'hallaytu' for sweetening the drink, and 'ratha'tu' for mourning the deceased.
