And 'mathna al-ayadi': repeating favors twice or more, and the excellent portions of the sacrificed camel in the game of chance, which a generous man would buy and feed the poor. And 'al-mathnah': a rope of wool or hair or other material, and it is read with kasra, like 'al-thaniyah' and 'al-thanaa'' with their kasras. And what is written other than the Book of Allah, or a book containing the news of the Children of Israel after Moses, in which they permitted and forbade what they wished, or it is singing, or what is called in Persian 'dobeiti'.
والثنيان، بالضم: الذي بعد السيد، كالثني، بالكسر وكهدى وإلى ج: ثنية، ومن لا رأي له ولا عقل، والفاسد من الرأي.
