And Fakkahhum bi-milh al-kalam tafkihan: he amused them with witty words, and the name is: Al-Fukayhah and Al-Fukahah, with dammah.

وفكه، كفرح، فكها وفكاهة، فهو فكه وفاكه: طيب النفس ضحوك، أو يحدث صحبه فيضحكهم، و منه: تعجب، كتفكه.

And Fakih, like farah, fakaha and fukahah, so he is fakih and fakih: cheerful and laughing, or he entertains his companions and makes them laugh, and from it: to marvel, like tafakkaha.

والتفاكه: التمازح.

وقوله تعالى: {فظلتم تفكهون} تهكم، أي: تجعلون فاكهتكم قولكم: {إنا لمغرمون} .

And His saying, the Almighty: {So you remained in this, talking} is mockery, meaning: you make your talk your fruit: {Indeed, we are laden [with debt].}

أو تفكه هنا، بمعنى: ألقى الفاكهة عن نفسه، قاله ابن عطية.
