Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan made a mistake and said to some people from Yemen: What is the الميل (slope/inclination) from you? They said: O Commander of the Faithful, we had a king called Al-Mathal, so he was embarrassed.
وبنو المثل بن معاوية: قبيلة، منهم أبو الشعثاء يزيد الكندي، وبالضم: ع بفلج.
