And al-fulful, like hudhud, and zabraj: Indian seeds, and the white is better, and both are beneficial for expelling viscous phlegm when chewed with pitch, and for warming nerves and muscles with an unparalleled warmth, and for colic, and bloating, and its use in a linctus for cough, and chest pains; a little of it constipates, and much of it loosens, dries, and induces, disperses semen after intercourse, and strongly spoils crops.
وأما الدار فلفل: وهو شجر الفلفل أول ما يثمر، فيزيد في الباءة، ويحدر الطعام، ويزيل المغص، وينفع من ms1442 نهش الهوام، طلاء بالدهن
And as for Daar al-fulful: it is the pepper plant when it first fruits, it increases sexual potency, aids digestion, removes colic, and is beneficial for the bites of venomous creatures, applied as an ointment with oil.
وككهدهد: الخادم الكيس، والليف، واسم
And like hudhud: the clever servant, and palm fiber, and a name.
وتفلفل: قارب بين الخطا، وتبختر، وشاص فاه بالسواك، كفلفل فيهما، وقادمتا الضرع اسودت حلمتاهما
And tafalfala: he quickened his steps, and swaggered, and cleaned his mouth with a siwak, like fulfula in both, and the two front parts of the udder, their teats blackened.
