Or Hasan named them so when Wasil ibn Ata and his companions withdrew to a pillar of the mosque, and he began to establish the doctrine of the 'station between two stations', that the one who commits a major sin is neither a complete believer nor a complete disbeliever, but between the two stations, like a group of Hasan's companions. So Hasan said: 'Wasil, withdraw from us'.
