Umar ruled in it, making one-third for the uterine brothers, and nothing for the full brothers. So they said to him: O Commander of the Faithful! Suppose our father was a donkey, and we are associated through our mother's kinship, so he associated them, and it was named: Mushrikah, Mushtarikah, and Himariyyah.

And al-sharika, with harakah: a tribe of Banu Asad.
وشرك، بالكسر: ماء لهم وراء جبل قنان، وبالتحريك: جبل بالحجاز.
And shirk, with kasra: a water source for them behind Mount Qinan, and with harakah: a mountain in Hijaz.
وريح مشارك: وهي التي تكون النكباء إليها أقرب من الريحين التي تهب بينهما.
And a musharik wind: it is the one that is closer to the side wind than the two winds blowing between them.
