And like 'muhdith': an idol of Bakr bin Wa'il, and the son of Al-Nu'man bin Al-Mundhir, and the Lakhmi poet, and Umarah bin Abd the Madani poet, and Amr bin Hind, because he burned one hundred of Banu Tamim, and Al-Harith bin Amr, and the king of Sham, because he was the first to burn the Arabs in their homes, so they are called: Aal Muhriq, and Imru' al-Qays bin Amr, and he is the one intended in the saying of Al-Aswad bin Ya'fur: What do I hope for after Aal Muhriq... they left their homes and after Iyad.
