And like thumamah: a man from 'Adhrah whom the jinn fascinated, so he would narrate what he saw, and they called him a liar and said: 'a tale of khurafah', or it is an amusing, false tale.

And al-kharf, with harakah: unripe dates, and with two dammahs in the saying of al-Jarud, may God be pleased with him: O Messenger of God, you know what suffices us from the back is a herd we approach them with in kharf, he meant: at the time of their departure to autumn.
وكسحاب، ويكسر: وقت اختراف الثمار.
And like sahabi, and it is broken: the time of harvesting fruits.
وخرف، كنصر وفرح وكرم، فهو خرف، ككتف: فسد عقله.
And he became senile, like nasr, farih, and karam, so he is senile, like katif: his mind deteriorated.
وكفرح: أولع بأكل الخرفة.
And like farih: he became addicted to eating al-khirfah.
وأخرفه: أفسده، و النخل: حان له أن يخرف، و الشاة: ولدت في الخريف، و القوم: دخلوا فيه، و الذرة: طالت جدا، و فلانا نخلة: جعلها له خرفة يخترفها، و الناقة: ولدت في مثل الوقت الذي حملت فيه، وهي مخرف.
And He spoiled it: He corrupted it, and the date palms: it was time for them to be harvested, and the ewe: she gave birth in autumn, and the people: they entered it, and the corn: it grew very tall, and a date palm for someone: He made it for him as a khirfah for him to harvest, and the she-camel: she gave birth at the same time she conceived, and she is mukhrif.
وخرفه تخريفا: نسبه إلى الخرف.
And he attributed senility to him, a process of attributing senility: he attributed senility to him.
