وجاؤوا بأجمعهم، وتضم الخباء: كلهم.
And they came bi-ajma'ihim, and to fold the tent: all of them.
وما جمعت بامرأة قط، و عن امرأة: ما بنيت.
And I have never married a woman qat, and from a woman: what has been built (i.e., consummated).
والإجماع: الاتفاق، وصر أخلاف الناقة جمع، وجعل الأمر جميعا بعد تفرقه، والإعداد، والتجفيف والإيباس، وسوق الإبل جميعا، والعزم على الأمر، أجمعت الأمر، وعليه، والأمر مجمع.
And al-ijmā': agreement, and the teats of a she-camel becoming full, and making the matter whole after its separation, and preparation, and drying, and driving the camels together, and resolving on a matter; I resolved on the matter, and on him, and the matter is resolved.
وقوله تعالى: {فأجمعوا أمركم وشركاءكم} ، أي: وادعوا شركاءكم، لأنه لا يقال: أجمعوا شركاءكم، أو المعنى: أجمعوا مع شركائكم على أمركم.
And His saying, the Almighty: {So resolve on your plan and your partners}, meaning: call upon your partners, because it is not said: 'resolve your partners', or the meaning is: resolve with your partners on your plan.
وأجمع المطر الأرض: سال رغابها وجهادها كلها.
And the rain saturated the land: its valleys and its high grounds all flowed.
والتجميع: مبالغة الجمع، وأن تجمع الدجاجة بيضها في بطنها.
And al-tajmī': exaggeration of gathering, and a hen gathering her eggs within her belly.
واجتمع: ضد تفرق، كاجدمع وتجمع واستجمع، و الرجل: بلغ أشده، واستوت لحيته.
And ijtama': the opposite of dispersed, like ijtadma', tajamma', and istajma', and a man: has reached his prime, and his beard has become even.
واستجمع السيل: اجتمع من كل موضع، و له أموره: اجتمع له كل ما يسره، و الفرس جريا: بالغ.
And the flood gathered: it came together from every place, and for him his affairs: all that pleased him came together, and a horse running: exerted itself fully.
وتجمعوا: اجتمعوا من هاهنا.
And tajamma'ū: they gathered from here.
والمجامعة: المباضعة.
And al-mujāma'ah: sexual intercourse.
وجامعه على أمر كذا: اجتمع معه.
And he agreed with him on such a matter: he convened with him.
