And he prolonged the saddle on the mount: he sustained it.
والسماء: دام مطرها
And the sky: its rain lasted.
والنبات: غطى الأرض، وكثف، وتدانى كأنه من حبة واحدة.

أنه، صلى الله عليه وسلم، جاء وهم يصلون، فجعل يغبطهم، هكذا روي مشددا، أي: يحملهم على الغبط، ويجعل هذا الفعل عندهم مما يغبط عليه.
That he, peace be upon him, came while they were praying, and he began to urge them on (or envy them), thus it is narrated with emphasis, meaning: he made them strive for what is envied, and considered this action among them as something to be envied.
وإن روي بالتخفيف، فيكون قد غبطهم لسبقهم إلى الصلاة.
And if it is narrated with lenition, it means he envied them for their precedence in prayer.
