And al-wateerah: the way, or a path adjacent to the mountain, and the interval in the matter, and the mole, and slowness, and confinement, and delay, and the membrane between the nostrils, and a cartilage at the top of the ear, and a skin between the index finger and the thumb, and what is between every two fingers, and what is attached to the poles of the tent, like al-watrah, with harakah in the last four, and a ring on which one learns to thrust, and a piece of land that thins, stretches, thickens, and is pliable, and the grave, and the white land, and the red or white rose, and the round blaze of a horse, and the light of a rose, and water below Mecca for Khuzā'ah, and the name for the number ten.
والوترة، محركة: حرف المنخر، والعرق في باطن الحشفة، والعصبة تضم مخرج روث الفرس، وحتار كل شيء، وعصبة تحت اللسان، وعقبة المتن، وما بين الأرنبة والسبلة، ومجرى السهم من القوس العربية، جمع الكل: وتر.
And al-watrah, with harakah: the nostril, and the vein on the underside of the glans, and the bundle that closes the exit of a horse's feces, and the edge of everything, and a bundle under the tongue, and the ridge of the back, and what is between the tip of the nose and the upper lip, and the groove for the arrow in the Arabic bow, the جمع of all is: watar.
