And al-na'rah, like hamzah: conceit, and arrogance, and a matter one is concerned with, like al-na'rah, with harakah in both: and what wild asses carry in their wombs before their creation is complete, like al-nath'ar, like sarad, which are the offspring of pregnant animals when formed, and a wind that affects the nose and shakes it, and the first of the Arak tree to bear fruit, and the Arak tree has borne fruit, and a blue fly that stings livestock, and sometimes enters the nose of a donkey causing it to become uncontrollable.
ونعر الحمار، كفرح: دخل في أنفه، فهو نعر، وهي نعرة.
And the donkey na'ara, like fariha: its nose was entered, so he is na'ir, and she is na'irah.
ونية نعور: بعيدة.
And a distant intention: far-reaching.
والنعار، كشداد: العاصي، والخراج السعاء في الفتن، والصياح.
And al-ni'ar, like shaddad: the disobedient one, and the instigator of strife in seditions, and the shouting.
والنعرة: صوت في الخيشوم.
And al-na'rah: a sound in the nostril.
والنعور من الرياح: ما فاجأك ببرد، وأنت في حر، أو عكسه.

And na'rat al-najm: the blowing of the wind, and the intensity of heat upon its rising.
والتنعير: إدارة السهم على الظفر ليعرف قوامه.
And al-tan'ir: rotating the arrow on the fingernail to know its straightness.
ومن أين نعرت إلينا؟: من أين أقبلت.
And from where did you come towards us?: From where did you approach?
وامرأة غيرى نعرى: صخابة، ولا يجوز أن يكون تأنيث نعران، لأن فعلان وفعلى يجيئان في باب فرح لا في باب منع.
And a jealous woman, na'rah: loud-mouthed, and it is not permissible for it to be the feminine of na'ran, because fa'lan and fa'lah come in the باب فرح (pattern of faraha) not in the باب منع (pattern of mana'a).
