والنذيرة: ما تعطيه، والولد الذي يجعله أبوه قيما، أو خادما للكنيسة، ذكرا كان أو أنثى، وقد نذره أبوه
And the nadhirah: what you give, and the child whom his father makes a guardian, or a servant for the church, whether male or female, and his father has dedicated him.
و من الجيش: طليعتهم الذي ينذرهم أمر عدوهم، وقد نذره
And from the army: their vanguard which warns them of the enemy's situation, and he has sent him ahead.

And he knew of a thing, as in 'faraha': he knew it and warned against it.
