وَ الْفِطْرَةُ: صَدَقَةُ الْفِطْرِ، وَالْخِلْقَةُ الَّتِي خُلِقَ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْلُودُ فِي رَحِمِ أُمِّهِ، وَالدِّينُ
And al-fitra: the Zakat al-Fitr, and the innate disposition with which the newborn is created in its mother's womb, and religion.
وَ سَيْفٌ فَطَّارٌ، كَغُرَابٍ: فِيهِ تَشَقُّقٌ، وَلَا يَقْطَعُ
And a sword that is fattar, like ghurab: it has cracks, and does not cut.
وَ الْفِطَارِيُّ، بِالضَّمِّ: الرَّجُلُ لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ وَلَا شَرَّ
And al-fitariyy, with damma: the man in whom there is neither good nor evil.

وَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ: حَانَ لَهُ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ، وَدَخَلَ فِي وَقْتِهِ
And the fasting person broke their fast: the time for them to break fast arrived, and its time began.
وَ ذَبَحْنَا فَطِيرَةً وَفُطُورَةً: شَاةً يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ
And we slaughtered a fatira and a futura: a ewe lamb on the day of Eid al-Fitr.
وَ قَوْلُ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، وَقَدْ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ: "هُوَ الْفِطْرُ"
And the saying of Umar, may God be pleased with him, when he was asked about madhi: 'It is al-fitr'.
قِيلَ: شَبَّهَ الْمَذْيَ فِي قِلَّتِهِ بِمَا يُحْتَلَبُ بِالْفِطْرِ
It was said: he likened madhi in its scarcity to what is milked with al-fitr.
أَوْ شَبَّهَ طُلُوعَهُ مِنَ الْإِحْلِيلِ بِطُلُوعِ النَّابِ
Or he likened its emergence from the urethra to the eruption of a tooth.
وَ رَوَاهُ النَّضْرُ بِالضَّمِّ، وَأَصْلُهُ مَا يَظْهَرُ مِنَ اللَّبَنِ عَلَى إِحْلِيلِ الضَّرْعِ
And Al-Nadr narrated it with damma, and its origin is what appears from the milk on the teat's opening.
