وأَرْضٌ شَجِرَةٌ ومُشْجَرَةٌ وشَجْراءُ: كثيرَتُهُ.

And land shajirah, mushjarah, and shajraa': abundant with it (trees).

والحُرُوفُ الشَّجَرِيَّةُ: شَضْجٌ.

And the shajariyyah letters: guttural sounds.

واشْتَجَرَ: وَضَعَ يَدَهُ تَحْتَ ذَقْنِهِ واتَّكَأَ على المِرْفَقِ.

And he ishtajara: he placed his hand under his chin and leaned on his elbow.

وعَلاثَةُ بنُ شَجَّارٍ، كَكَتَّانٍ: صَحابِيٌّ، ووُهِمَ الذَّهَبِيُّ في تَخْفِيفِهِ.

And 'Alathah bin Shajjar, like kattan: a companion, and Al-Dhahabi was mistaken in simplifying it.

And al-ishtijar: the avoidance of sleep by its owner, and escape, like al-inshijar in both.

وديباجٌ مُشَجَّرٌ: مُنَقَّشٌ بِهَيْئَةِ الشَّجَرِ.

And patterned brocade: decorated in the shape of trees.

والشَّجَرَةُ: النُّقْطَةُ الصَّغِيرَةُ في ذَقَنِ الغُلامِ.

And al-shajarah: the small dot on the chin of a boy.

وما أَحْسَنَ شَجَرَةَ ضَرْعِ النَّاقَةِ، أي: قَدْرَهُ وهيْئَتَهُ، أو عُرُوقَهُ وجِلْدَهُ ولَحْمَهُ.
