And Dhū al-Janāḥayn: Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, he fought on the day of Mu'tah until his hands were cut off and he was killed.
فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَبْدَلَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ جَنَاحَيْنِ يَطِيرُ بِهِمَا فِي الجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ يَشَاءُ"
So the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Indeed, Allah has replaced his two hands with two wings for him, with which he flies in Paradise wherever he wishes.'
و"رَكِبُوا جَنَاحَي الطَّائِرِ": فَارَقُوا أَوْطَانَهُمْ
And 'they rode the wings of the bird': they left their homelands.
و"رَكِبَ جَنَاحَيْ النَّعَامَةِ": جَدَّ فِي الأَمْرِ، وَاحْتَفَلَ
And 'he rode the wings of the ostrich': he was diligent in the matter and made great effort.
وَنَحْنُ عَلَى جَنَاحِ السَّفَرِ، أَيْ: نُرِيدُهُ
And we are on the wing of travel, i.e.: we intend it.
والجُنَاحُ، بِالضَّمِّ: الإِثْمُ
