فقال له: انط أي اسكت، بلغة حمير.
So he said to him: 'Anṭ', meaning 'be silent', in the dialect of Himyar.
قال المفضل وزجر للعرب تقوله للبعير تسكينا له إذا نفر: انط فيسكن، وهي أيضا إشلاء للكلب.
Al-Mufaḍḍal said: And it is a call used by Arabs for a camel to calm it when it is startled: 'Anṭ', and it calms down, and it is also used for calling a dog.
وأنطيت: لغة في أعطيت، وقد قرئ: إنا أنطيناك الكوثر ؛
And 'anṭaytu': is a variant pronunciation for 'I gave', and it has been recited: 'Indeed, We have given you the Kausar';
