ابن سيده: مقى الطست والمرآة وغيرهما مقيا جلاها ويمقيها
Ibn Sidah said: He polished the basin, the mirror, and others, meaning he cleaned them and would clean them.
ومقوت أسناني ونقيتها.
And I polished my teeth and cleaned them.
وقالوا: امقه مقيتك مالك
And they said: Preserve your wealth, meaning guard your wealth.
وامقه مقوك مالك

ومقاوتك مالك أي صنه صيانتك مالك.
