لَبَّيْكَ لَيْسَ بِمُثَنَّى وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِثَالُ عَلَيْكَ وَإِلَيْكَ
Labbayka is not dual; rather, it is an example of 'upon you' and 'towards you'.
أَلْبَبْتُ بِالمَكَانِ وَلَبَبْتُ لُغَتَانِ إِذَا أَقَمْتَ بِهِ
Albabtu bil-makān and lababtu are two languages (forms) if you stay in it.
ثُمَّ قَلَبُوا البَاءَ الثَّانِيَةَ إِلَى اليَاءِ اسْتِثْقَالًا كَمَا قَالُوا تظَّنَّيْتُ، وَإِنَّمَا أَصْلُهَا تظَنَّنْتُ
Then they changed the second ba' to a ya' due to heaviness, as they said taẓannaytu, while its origin is taẓannantu.
دَعَوْتُ لِمَا نَابَنِي مُسَوِّرًا ... فَلَبَّى، فَلَبِّي يَدَيْ مُسَوِّرٍ
I called when something befell me, Musawwir ... so he responded, so 'labbi' (respond to) the hands of Musawwir.
دَعَوْتُ فَتًى، أَجَابَ فَتًى دَعَاهُ ... بِلَبَّيْهِ أَشَمَّ شَمَرْدَلِي
I called a young man, a young man who called him responded ... with his 'labbayhi', a proud, noble one.
يَقُولُ لَبِّي يَدَيْ مُسَوِّرٍ إِذَا دَعَانِي أَيْ أُجِيبُهُ كَمَا يُجِيبُنِي
He says 'labbi yaday Musawwir' when he calls me, meaning 'I respond to him as he responds to me'.
يُقَالُ بَيْنَهُمُ المُلْتَبِيَةُ غَيْرُ مَهْمُوزٍ أَيْ مُتَفَاوِضُونَ لَا يَكْتُمُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا إِنْكَارًا
It is said among them 'al-multabiyah' (without hamza), meaning they are consulting, none of them concealing denial from the other.
وَاللَّبَوُ: قَبِيلَةٌ مِنَ العَرَبِ، النَّسَبُ إِلَيْهِ لَبَوِيٌّ عَلَى غَيْرِ قِيَاسٍ
And al-Labu: A tribe from the Arabs; the attribution to it is Labawiyy, which is irregular.
