May God increase his livelihood, meaning his sustenance became abundant, to preoccupy him from the hereafter.
وآية ذلك أن تفشو الفاقة
And a sign of that is that poverty becomes widespread.
والفواشي: كل شيء منتشر من المال كالغنم السائمة والإبل وغيرها لأنها تفشو أي تنتشر في الأرض
And al-fawashi: everything that spreads of wealth, like grazing sheep, camels, and others, because they spread out in the land.
لما انهزموا قالوا الرأي أن ندخل في الحصن ما قدرنا عليه من فاشيتنا أي مواشينا
When they were defeated, they said the opinion is to enter the fortress with whatever we could manage of our livestock.

Gather your spreading livestock at night until the darkness of night passes.
أفشى الرجل إذا كثرت فواشيه
A man has become afsha if his fawashi (livestock/wealth) have increased.
أفشى الرجل وأمشى وأوشى إذا كثر ماله، وهو الفشاء والمشاء، ممدود
A man has become afsha, amsha, and awsha if his wealth has increased; and he is al-fasha' and al-masha', extended.
فشت عليه أموره إذا انتشرت فلم يدر بأي ذلك يأخذ، وأفشيته أنا
His affairs became widespread upon him, meaning they spread out and he did not know which of them to attend to, and I caused them to spread.
