And the Arabs say: khisyun basiyun as an echo; from al-Lihyani, and the plural is khisyah and khisyani; Sibawayh said: they likened it to a noun like dhaleem and dhulmaan, meaning that fa'laan is usually the plural of fa'eel as a noun, and the place of cutting is makhsa.
الخصاء أن تخصى الشاة والدابة خصاء، ممدود، لأنه عيب والعيوب تجيء على فعال مثل العثار والنفار والعضاض وما أشبهها.
Castration is to castrate a sheep or an animal with castration, extended, because it is a defect, and defects come in the form of fa'aal like 'athaar, nifaar, and 'idhaadh, and what resembles them.
الصوم خصاء
Fasting is castration.
إن الله يجعل مكان كل شوكة مثل خصوة التيس الملبود فيها سبعون لونا من الطعام لا يشبه الآخر
Indeed, Allah makes in place of every thorn like the testicle of a ram, in which are seventy colors of food, none of which resembles another.
والخصي، مخفف: الذي يشتكي خصاه.
And al-khasi, lightened: he who complains of his testicles.
والخصي من الشعر: ما لم يتغزل فيه.
And al-khasi from poetry: that which does not contain amorous themes.
