And I inflicted 'ithaa'' among the people, meaning I wounded among them, and it is al-tha'y.

يا لك من عيث ومن إثآء ... يعقب بالقتل وبالسباء

Oh, what mischief and what wounding... it results in killing and captivity.

والثأى: الخرم والفتق؛

And al-tha'y: the hole and the tear.

هو الوافد الميمون والراتق الثأى، ... إذا النعل يوما بالعشيرة زلت

والثأوة المهزولة من الغنم وهي الشاة المهزولة؛
