The Bāṭiyah is a large glass vessel filled with drink and placed among the drinkers, from which they scoop and drink.
إذا وضع فيها القدح سحت به ورقصت من عظمها وكثرة ما فيها من الشراب
When a cup is placed in it, it is emptied, and it sways due to its size and the abundance of drink within it.
وإياها أراد حسان بقوله: بزجاجة رقصت بما في قعرها
And Hassan intended it with his saying: 'With a glass vessel that swayed with what was in its bottom...'
رقص القلوص براكب مستعجل
