والنهم خروج الصوت على الإبعاد؛
And 'nahm' is the emission of sound over a distance;
ودون نبح النابح الموهوه
And short of the bark of the 'mawwhuh' barker
يوهوه من الشفقة يدارك النفس كأن به بهرا،
'Yuwuhwih' from affection, catching its breath as if it has exhaustion,
والوهوه والوهواه من الخيل أيضا: النشيط الحديد الذي يكاد يفلت عن كل شيء من حرصه ونزقه،
And al-wuhwuh and al-wuhwah from horses also: the energetic, sharp one that almost escapes everything due to its eagerness and impetuosity,
ووهوه الأسد في زئيره، فهو وهواه،
And the lion's 'wuhwuh' in its roar, so it is 'wuhwuh' and 'hawah',
والوهوه: الذي يرعد من الامتلاء.
And al-wuhwuh: is one who trembles from fullness.
ورجل وهواه: منخوب الفؤاد.
And a man of 'hawah': is faint-hearted.
