Al-Layth in the interpretation of Taha (truncated): it is in Abyssinian, 'O man'. He said: And whoever reads Taha, it is two letters. He said: And it reached us that when Moses heard the speech of God Almighty, fear agitated him until he stood on the tips of his toes in fear, so God Almighty said Taha, meaning 'Be calm'.

He said: And it came in the interpretation, 'Taha, O man, O human'. He said: And Qais narrated to us from Asim from Zar, he said: A man recited Taha to Ibn Mas'ud, and Abdullah said to him: 'Taha'. The man said: 'Is it not commanded that he tread with his foot?' Abdullah said to him: 'This is how the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, taught me to recite it'.
قال الفراء: وكان بعض القراء يقطعها ط ه ،
Al-Farra' said: And some of the reciters would separate it as 'Ta' 'Ha'.
وروى الأزهري عن أبي حاتم قال: طه افتتاح سورة، ثم استقبل الكلام فخاطب النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: ما أنزلنا عليك القرآن لتشقى،
And Al-Azharī narrated from Abu Hatim, he said: Taha is the opening of a chapter, then the speech turned to address the Prophet, peace be upon him, and said: 'We have not sent down the Quran to you to cause you distress'.
وقال قتادة: طه بالسريانية يا رجل.
And Qatadah said: Taha is in Syriac, 'O man'.
وقال سعيد بن جبير وعكرمة: هي بالنبطية يا رجل، وروي ذلك عن ابن عباس
And Sa'id bin Jubayr and Ikrimah said: It is in Nabataean, 'O man', and this was narrated from Ibn Abbas.
