لم يجعل شَدَهَ من الدَّهَشِ كما يظن بعض الناس أنه مقلوب منه، واللغة العالية دَهِشَ، على فَعِلَ، وأما الشَّدْهَةُ فالدال ساكنة.
He did not make 'shadaha' from 'ad-dahash' as some people think it is an inversion of it. The elevated language is 'dahisha', on the pattern 'fa'ila', but as for 'ash-shadhah', the 'd' is silent.
