That a man from Aslam was attacked by a wolf which snatched a sheep from his flock, so he rebuked it, meaning he reprimanded it.

And he intended jahjahahu, and substituted the ha with a hamza due to the abundance of ha's and the proximity of the articulation point.

وذلك أن عوف بن حارثة بن سليط الأصم ضرب خطم فرس مالك بالسيف وهو مربوط بفناء القبة فنشب في خطمه فقطع الرسن وجال في الناس، فجعلوا يقولون جوه جوه، فسمي يوم جهجوه

And that was because Awf ibn Harithah ibn Sulayṭ al-Aṣamm struck the muzzle of Malik's horse with his sword while it was tied at the entrance of the tent, so it got stuck in its muzzle, cut the reins, and ran among the people, and they began to say 'Jawh Jawh', so it was named Yawm Jahjuh.

And Jah Jah is an imitation of the sound of heroes in war.

And Jah Jah is a calming sound for a lion, a wolf, and others.

ويقال: تجهجه عني أي انته

And it is said: 'Tajhjah 'anni', meaning 'turn away from me'.

لا تذهب الليالي حتى يملك رجل يقال له الجهجاه ، كأنه مركب من هذا، ويروى الجهجل

The nights will not pass until a man called Al-Jahjah rules, as if compounded from this, and it is also narrated as Al-Jahjal.
