And a man, so he is wasin, meaning he fainted from the stench of the well, like asina. And the well made him faint, and it is a well that causes fainting (mawsinah), according to Abu Zayd. A person faints in it with wasan, which is a fainting spell that overcomes him.

وامرأة وسنى ووسنانة: فاترة الطرف، شبهت بالمرأة الوسنى من النوم

And a woman is wasna and wasnanah: languid of gaze, likened to a woman drowsy from sleep.

وسنان أقصده النعاس فرنقت ... في عينه سنة، وليس بنائم

Drowsy, sleepiness overcame him, and it lingered in his eye, yet he was not asleep.

ووسن الرجل يوسن وسنا وسنة إذا نام نومة خفيفة، فهو وسن.

When the Arabs say a woman is wasna, the meaning is that she is lazy from comfort.

A mawsunah woman, and she is the lazy one.

ورزق فلان ما لم يحلم به في وسنه.

وتوسن فلان فلانا إذا أتاه عند النوم، وقيل: جاءه حين اختلط به الوسن

واوسن يا رجل ليلتك، والألف ألف وصل.
