The example of a scholar is like a spring of water; the distant come to it and the near leave it, until its water dries up, then his people are left regretting.
أزد شنوأة يقولون يتفكهون، وتميم تقول يتفكنون
Azd Shanu'ah say yatafakkaheen, and Tamim say yatafakkeen.
وقال مجاهد في قوله: فظلتم تفكهون أي تعجبون
And Mujahid said regarding his saying: 'fa-zaltum tafakkoon', meaning you were astonished.
وقال عكرمة: تندمون.
And Ikrimah said: you regret.
وقال ابن الأعرابي: تفكهت وتفكنت أي تندمت
And Ibn al-A'rabi said: tafakkaytu and tafakantu, meaning I regretted.
سمعت مزاحما يقول تفكن وتفكر واحد
