And a gazelle that responded to the incantations, beauty adorned it, and made it beautiful, and made it beautiful, according to the origin. And he adorned himself and became adorned in meaning. It is 'ifta'ala' from 'al-zīnah', but when the 'tā'' became soft in its articulation and did not match the 'zāy' due to its harshness, they replaced it with a 'dāl', so it is 'muzdān'. If you assimilate it, you say 'muzān'. The diminutive of 'muzdān' is 'muzayyin', like 'mukhayyar' is the diminutive of 'mukhtār', and 'muzayyin' if you compensate, as you say for the plural 'mazāyin' and 'mazāyīn'. And in the hadith of Khuzaymah: 'What prevented me from not being adorned by your proclamation' means 'adorned by the proclamation of your affair'. It is 'muf'tal' from 'al-zīnah', so they replaced the 'tā'' with a 'dāl' because of the 'zāy'.
قال الأزهري: سمعت صبيا من بني عقيل يقول لآخر: وجهي زين ووجهك شين؛ أراد أنه صبيح الوجه وأن الآخر قبيحه، قال: والتقدير وجهي ذو زين ووجهك ذو شين، فنعتهما بالمصدر كما يقال رجل صوم وعدل أي ذو عدل.

Adorn the Quran with your voices. Ibn al-Athir said: It is said to be inverted, meaning 'adorn your voices with the Quran', and the meaning is to recite it frequently and adorn yourselves with it, and that is not for the sake of melodious speech and lamentation, as in his saying: 'He is not among us who does not sing with the Quran', meaning he does not recite it frequently as other people recite songs and music. He said: Al-Harawi, Al-Khattabi, and those before them said this. Others said: There is no need for inversion. Rather, its meaning is to encourage the recitation with tartil (clear, measured recitation) which is commanded in His saying, the Almighty: 'And recite the Quran with tartil'. So it is as if the adornment is for the one who recites with tartil, not for the Quran itself, just as it is said: 'Woe to poetry from bad narration', it refers to the narrator, not the poetry. So it is as if it is a warning to the one who falls short in narration about what is criticized in him from melody, mispronunciation, and bad performance, and an encouragement to others to guard against that. Thus, His saying: 'Adorn the Quran with your voices' indicates what is adorned by tartil, contemplation, and attention to grammar.
He meant by the Quran: recitation, which is the masdar of 'qara'a' (to recite) - 'qirā'atan' and 'qur'ānan'. Meaning: 'Adorn your recitation of the Quran with your voices.' He said: And what supports the correctness of this, and that inversion is not necessary, is the hadith of Abu Musa: That the Prophet, peace be upon him, listened to his recitation and said: 'You have been given a flute from the flutes of the family of David.' He said: 'If I had known you were listening, I would have embellished it for you with embellishment', meaning he would have improved his recitation and adorned it. This is supported with certainty by the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas: That the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 'Everything has an adornment, and the adornment of the Quran is a beautiful voice.'
والزينة والزونة: اسم جامع لما تزين به، قلبت الكسرة ضمة فانقلبت الياء واوا.
