And Tha'lab narrated: a dog is za'ini, with hamza, meaning short, and do not say sini.
وَذُو يزَنَ: مَلِكٌ مِنْ مُلُوكِ حِمْيَرَ، أَصْلُهُ يَزْأَنُ مِنْ لَفْظِ الزُّؤَانِ، قَالَ: وَلَا يَجِبُ صَرْفُهُ لِلزِّيَادَةِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَالتَّعْرِيفِ.
And Dhu Yazan: a king from the kings of Himyar, his origin is Yaz'an from the word al-zu'an; he said: and it is not obligatory to decline it due to the addition at its beginning and its definiteness.
وَرُمْحٌ يَزَنِيٌّ وَأَزَنِيٌّ وَيَزْأَنِيٌّ وَأَزْأَنِيٌّ وَأَيْزَنِيٌّ عَلَى القَلْبِ، وَآزَنِيٌّ عَلَى القَلْبِ أَيْضًا.
And a spear is yazani, azani, yaz'ani, az'ani, ayzani by metathesis, and aazani also by metathesis.
