He said: 'Go to your mother'; one name prevailed over the other, just as they said 'Al-Umran' for Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, and 'Al-Qamaran' for the sun and the moon.
ويحتمل أن يكون كقولهم الجلمان للجلم، والقلمان للمقلام، وهو المقراض
And it is possible that it is like their saying 'Al-Jalman' for 'Al-Jalam', and 'Al-Qalman' for 'Al-Miqlam', which is the scissors.

It is with two فتحات (fathas): a known mountain of sand, and Abu Raja lived one hundred and twenty-eight years. And when you dualize it, you say Al-Ḥasnan.
وأنشد ابن سيده في الحسنين لشمعلة بن الأخضر الضبي
And Ibn Saydah recited in Al-Ḥasayn for Sham'alah ibn Al-Akhdar Al-Dhobbi.
شككنا بالأسنة، وهي زور، ... صماخي كبشهم حتى استدارا
We pierced their sheep's horns with spears, which were false, until they turned around.
فخر على الألاءة لم يوسد، ... وقد كان الدماء له خمارا
He fell upon the rock, not having a pillow, and blood was his veil.
قوله: وهي زور يعني الخيل
His saying: 'and they are false' means the horses.
أبت عيناك بالحسن الرقادا، ... وأنكرت الأصادق والبلادا
Your eyes refused sleep at Al-Hasan, and you denied the truthful ones and the lands.
