ابن شميل: ألقم البعير عدوا بينا هو يمشي إذ عدا فذلك الإلقام، وقد ألقم عدوا وألقمت عدوا.

Ibn Shumayl said: The camel attacked its enemy clearly; it was walking when it attacked, and that is the attack. And it attacked an enemy, and I made it attack an enemy.

And al-laqm, with harakah: the middle of the road; Ibn Bury recited for Al-Kumait: And Abdul Rahim is the gatherer of affairs, ... to him reached the middle of the work.

ولقم الطريق ولقمه؛ الأخيرة عن كراع: متنه ووسطه؛ وقال الشاعر يصف الأسد: غابت حليلته وأخطأ صيده، ... فله على لقم الطريق زئير «1».

And al-luqm, with sukun: the masdar of your saying 'laqama al-tariq' and 'ghayr al-tariq', with fatha, 'yalqumuhu', with damma, 'luqman': he blocked his mouth.
