Whoever takes anything from it shall pay a penalty of double its like.
وَفِي ضَالَّةِ الإِبِلِ المَكْتُومَةِ غَرَامَتُهَا وَمِثْلُهَا مَعَهَا.
And for a hidden lost camel, its penalty and its like are with it.
وَالزَّكَاةُ مُغْرَمًا أَيْ يَرَى رَبُّ المَالِ أَنَّ إِخْرَاجَ زَكَاتِهِ غَرَامَةٌ يَغْرَمُهَا.
And zakāh as a burden, meaning the owner of the wealth sees the payment of his zakāh as a penalty he incurs.
وَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ: أَيْ هَلَاكًا وَلِزَامًا لَهُمْ،
And Abū 'Ubaydah said: meaning destruction and a permanent affliction for them,
وَقَدْ أُغْرِمَ بِالشَّيْءِ أَيْ أُولِعَ بِهِ
And he became infatuated with the thing, meaning he became obsessed with it.
فَمِنَ اللَّهْجِ بِاللَّذَّةِ السَّلِسِ القِيَادِ لِلشَّهْوَةِ أَوِ المُغْرَمِ بِالجَمْعِ وَالادِّخَارِ؟
Is it from the eagerness for pleasure, easily led by desire, or the one obsessed with collecting and hoarding?
وَإِنِّي بِكَ لَمُغْرَمٌ إِذَا لَمْ يُصْبَرْ عَنْهُ.
And indeed, I am infatuated with you if one cannot refrain from it.
وَنَرَى أَنَّ الغَرِيمَ إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ غَرِيمًا لِأَنَّهُ يَطْلُبُ حَقَّهُ وَيُلِحُّ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ.
And we believe that the creditor is only called 'gharīm' because he demands his right and insists until he receives it.
وَالرَّهْنُ لِمَنْ رَهَنَهُ لَهُ غُنْمُهُ وَعَلَيْهِ غُرْمُهُ
And the pledge belongs to the one who pledged it; he has its gain and its redemption cost.
الغُرْمَى المَرْأَةُ المُغَاضِبَةُ.
Al-ghurmā: the quarrelsome woman.
غُرْمَى وَجَدِّكَ لَوْ وَجَدْتَ بِهِمْ، ... كَعَدَاوَةٍ يَجِدُونَهَا بَعْدِي
By your life, if you found them, ... like enmity they find after me.
