هو آكلكم للمأدوم وأكسبكم للمعدوم وأعطاكم للمحروم؛

He is the most consuming of you of prepared food, the most earning for the destitute, and the most giving to the deprived;

كسوب له المعدوم من كسب واحد، ... محالفه الإقتار ما يتمول

He earns for the destitute from the earnings of one, ... poverty accompanies him, he does not accumulate wealth.

قالت له خديجة كلا إنك تكسب المعدوم وتحمل الكل

Khadijah said to him: Nay, you earn for the destitute and bear the burden.

وعدم يعدم عدامة إذا حمق، فهو عديم أحمق.

And 'adama' he becomes 'adama', if he is foolish, so he is 'adeem', foolish.

وأرض عدماء: بيضاء.

And an 'admaa' land: white.

وشاة عدماء: بيضاء الرأس وسائرها مخالف لذلك.
